About Good Neighbor Ensemble
Our Story
Good Neighbor Ensemble was founded in March of 2002 by the volunteers of the Good Neighbor Ministry. The eleven original members were the middle school aged children of these volunteers, who were gathered together and led by our first music director Jina Choi to perform classical and religious music for the residents of local nursing homes in Bergen County.
Our first concert was at the Woodcrest Health Care Center in April of 2002. Since then, GNE has grown to regularly performing at over twenty nursing homes located through Bergen and Passaic counties.
Our Mission
Our mission is to spread the celebrate the Gospel through sharing the gift of music with the elderly who live in nursing homes all around Bergen and Passaic counties.
Our Approach
We practice as a whole ensemble weekly to actively prepare for the various concerts we have throughout the year. We perform at nursing homes at least once a month as well as host and perform a benefit concert every year. On special occasions, visit other areas outside of our immediate such as the neighborhood of West Philadelphia and the country of Jordan.
