Audition Information

Pre-requisites

Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute
Experience: Minimum 4 years of playing experience
Age: Student must be in grade 8 or higher as of Sept 2024 (Current 7th graders may audition)

Requirements

Solo: A 3 minute long selection from a solo piece of your choice
Sight Reading: 30 seconds - 1 minute sight reading section
Scales & Arpeggios (3 Octaves):
- Flute
  - E Major
  - B Melodic Minor
  - *Chromatic scale from C - C in 3 octaves
- Violin
  - E Major
  - B Melodic Minor
- Viola
  - F Major
  - E Melodic Minor
- Cello
  - F Major
  - D Melodic Minor
- *All stringed instruments should slur scales 4 notes per bow and arpeggios 3 notes per bow.
